Ascoli Piceno Festival

Since 2022 Roberto Prosseda has been the artistic director of the Ascoli Piceno Festival, which takes place annually in September in Ascoli Piceno. Founded in 1996 by cellist Michael Flaksman, the Ascoli Piceno Festival is a major player in the chamber music scene in Italy. It is distinguished by original programming, with many artists from abroad, and otherwise little featured in Italian seasons. Roberto Prosseda's artistic direction has seen the entry of the Festival among those financed by the FUS, Fondo Unico dello Spettacolo. Since 2022, the Festival has also included "Mendelssohn Music Days" and the Vladimir Mendelssohn Composition Competition, dedicated to the memory of Vladimir Mendelssohn, a great friend of the Festival. The jury of the first edition of the competition was chaired by Osvaldo Golijov and composed of Silvia Colasanti, Fabrice Gregorutti, Daniel Rowland, Giovanni Sollima.
