On March 18 in Bamberg, Roberto Prosseda, together with conductor Nir Kabaretti, received the International Classical Music Awards for the Hyperion CD War Silence, awarded as the best CD of 2025 in the “Concertos” category.

The jury, composed of the editors of 20 major European classical music magazines and radio stations, gave the following motivation for the award:

One of the most outstanding contemporary pianists, renowned for his melodic sensitivity, logical interpretations and natural style here introduces four relatively unknown piano concertos. In every case, Roberto Prosseda finds a style based on his understanding of each piece’s idiom, requirements and exquisite technique. All of them employ the communicative language of neo-classicism in the broad sense and are interesting. One or two of them should definitely be included in the standard concert repertoire. Apart from Dallapiccola’s picturesque and lyrical piece, which ones? Let everyone choose for themselves.

At the gala concert following the award ceremony, Roberto Prosseda performed Omizzolo’s Concerto, featured on the CD, with the Bamberger Symphoniker conducted by Jakub Hrůša, broadcast live on Deutsche Welle and on the Euroradio network.
